Due dates for POE submissions

Due dates for POE submissions.

  • Your POE hard copy is received at our office and processed through our internal administration system.
  • POEs will be allocated to assessors that will assess and provide you directly feedback on the outcome. The duration of an assessment can be anything between 2 to 4 hours per file, if not more.
  • Once completed, the POE will be passed to the Internal Moderator that will repeat the same process.
  • Finally your POE is prepared for SETA verification. (Physical site visit by the SETA at our office to verify all the files and content that might take between 1 to 2 days.)
  • On completion the final documents is processed, verified again by the SETA and finally approved that might take up to 2 weeks.

SETA verification site visits is scheduled in advance between 4 to 8 weeks in advance. (Depending on the availability of the SETA) The process that will be followed:

  • We will publish the next closing date for submissions on our helpdesk: www.trainyoucansupport.co.za These are planned every 6 to 8 weeks.
  • All POEs received before or on this due date (that was found competent during the assessment process) will be included in our next SETA verification that is normally 2 weeks after the closing date. (We still need time to assess, moderate and prepare all the files for the site visit.)

A portfolio of evidence (POE) is a collection of documents (your workbook, assignments + evidence) that you must compile to show your competence against a set of learning outcomes. A portfolio is a folder, file or collection of information which presents direct and indirect evidence. We unfortunately need a hard copy for SETA purposes. This file or folder will be forwarded at the end of your learning programme to the TRAINYOUCAN offices.

An A4 ring binder or suitable equivalent can be very useful as it clearly displays and protects your evidence. Do not cram it full of material; make it easy to turn pages and access content. Be selective with what you include, ensure that it is of a good quality and relevant.
